I started reading charts at eleven years old. One day my father, a market trader and technician found his library of books on technical analysis mysteriously disappearing. He later found the textbooks under my bed. For many years day and night I studied technical analysis and charting, working and learning from my father who has over 50 years of trading experience. Technical analysis is my passion and love. In 2001, I started noticing the junior mining stocks and gold as having a tremendous upside. For the past 9 years I have researched many juniors and have identified the major winners using technical analysis and finding top management. I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics and a Masters Degree. I learned most of my technical analysis from the school of hard knocks, managing real money for myself and for my family. Constantly perfecting my craft, I have traded for two decades of success in many different markets.
I really enjoy trading and I also enjoy writing about trading. Writing about trading or trading strategies helps transfer thoughts that would otherwise stay in ‘theory’ and helps move them to more concrete form for me. And hopefully along the way you will pick up something useful as well. BestOnlineTrades covers many different aspects of trading, from commodities to stocks, from indices to ETF’s.

Over the years I have studied all facets of survivalism learning what works and, more importantly, what does not work! My goal is to show you how to prepare using my vast resources and personal experience with online helpful tips, guides and checklists – focusing on a very modest budget. You may find other preparedness sites giving the impression that you need fancy Freeze Dried Foods, a massive gun collection, a Hummer equipped with a gun turret and a 50 acre retreat secluded in some remote mountain top of Idaho. Although this may seem attractive on some level, it is not possible for the average Joe & Jane plus, nothing could be further from the truth! It is my firm belief and conviction, backed with life experience that you can be practical, live efficiently well within your means and take positive, incremental steps towards preparedness success – all with minimal finances. Let me show you how to do it.

I have more than a decade of extensive experience trading stocks, indices, ETFs, CFDs and Futures. My trading style has been thoroughly refined over the years, blending the best cutting-edge approaches that have only been possible with modern systems and diverse technologies. I believe I represent the ideal combination of trading styles and trade setups including a number of trading breakthroughs entirely on my own. It is this blend of the time-tested and innovatively new that allows me to take advantage of bull, bear and flat markets regardless of how each week plays out. I’ve repeatedly observed that one of the biggest keys to making a lot of money in challenging markets involves aiming for big, quick returns, while maintaining an extraordinary focus on minimizing risk. This may be what most distinguishes what I provide vs. the experiences delivered by the vast majority of other newsletters.

Martin O. Hutchinson
An investment banker with more than 25 years’ experience, Hutchinson has worked on both Wall Street and Fleet Street and is a leading expert on the international financial markets. At Creditanstalt-Bankverein, Hutchinson was a Senior Vice President in charge of the institution’s derivative operations, one of the most challenging units to run. He also served as a director of Gestion Integral de Negocios, a Spanish private-equity firm, and as an advisor to the Korean conglomerate, Sunkyong Corp. In February 2000, as part of the Financial Services Volunteer Corps, Hutchinson became an advisor to the Republic of Macedonia, working directly with Minister of Finance Nikola Gruevski (now that country’s Prime Minister). The nation had been staggered by the breakup of Yugoslavia – in which 800,000 Macedonians lost their life savings – and then the Kosovo War. Under Hutchinson’s guidance, the country issued 12-year bonds, and created a market for the bonds to trade. The bottom line: Macedonians were able to sell their bonds for cash, and many recouped more than three-quarters of what they’d lost – to the tune of about $1 billion. Hutchinson earned his undergraduate degree in mathematics from Cambridge University, and an MBA from Harvard University. He lives near Washington, D.C.

We believe that markets move largely based on important swings in sentiment, crowd behavioral patterns, Fibonacci Re-tracements, Cycles, and other ephemeral catalysts. The headlines explain what just happened in the market, but they do not predict the next moves up or down in the indices, sectors, or commodities. As an investor, you need to be armed with tools in advance of major moves that are accurate, and TMTF will assist you in being prepared as an investor for volatile markets both on the upside and downside. We have a wealth of technical analysis experience to take advantage of the crowd behavior in the markets. Our Chief Strategist, David Banister, has been quoted and or written articles on CBS Marketwatch.com, 321gold.com, TheStreet.Com, SafeHaven.com, Kitco.com, Stockhouse.com, Theaureport.com, along with other well known investment sites. David has been a past guest on the national radio show “Money Matter$â€. Chris Vermeulen of Thegoldandoilguy.com met David in 2008 as the financial crisis was unfolding. After numerous months of following the forecasts and trading abilities of Mr. Banister, Chris suggested that a joint venture be formed and we offer a trading service to a finite and select group of partners (subscribers). ActiveTradingPartners.Com was formed in July of 2009, and with the success of that service, we now launch The Market Trend Forecast in March of 2010.
