CNN Anchor Piers Morgan Calls For Increased Gun Control and Said The 2nd Amendment Was Outdated

December 4th, 2012

Steve Watson: CNN anchor Piers Morgan has been bombarded with angry responses from Americans following a twitter rant in which he called for increased gun control and said the Second Amendment was outdated.

Following Monday’s on air gun control rant by NBC’s Bob Costas, CNN ran a number of segments advocating more gun control.

Anchor Brooke Baldwin stated “perhaps Congress is listening” after her guest called for tougher gun laws, and anchor Carol Costello asked if the incident should “cause us to rethink gun control?”

Have you ever wondered how billionaires continue to get RICHER, while the rest of the world is struggling?

"I study billionaires for a living. To be more specific, I study how these investors generate such huge and consistent profits in the stock markets -- year-in and year-out."

By far the most vocal, however, was Morgan, who tweeted with regard to Costas’ comments “He’s 100% right,”

“The 2nd amendment was devised with muskets in mind, not high-powered handguns & assault rifles. Fact,” Morgan later added.

In between messages about sports and how wonderful the Royal family are, the British anchor then re-tweeted New York Mayor Bloomberg’s call for a “frank discussion about gun laws and gun violence.”

Morgan also tweeted, “America has 300 million guns and 11-12,000 gun murders a year. I think it’s time there was a serious debate about guns in the U.S.”, adding “When Bill O’Reilly agrees America needs more gun control, I think the time for serious debate has arrived” linking to a huffington Post article about O’Reilly calling for harsher punishments for gun crimes.

Following scores of counter tweets from pro-second amendment Americans, Morgan tweeted “I’d like fewer Americans to die from gun crime each day. That’s all. It’s a debate worth having, however much abuse I need to endure!”

The CNN anchor then posted numerous sarcastic responses to tweets he has received from critics.

Morgan was, for the most part, owned by his critics, including author Carol Roth, who used facts and reasoned arguments in the face of his empty talking points and glib sarcastic responses.

This is not the first time CNN has played host to Morgan’s anti-gun rants. In the hours after the “Batman” shootings back in July, he spent a large portion of his time calling for more gun control.

In response to Bob Costas’ unmistakable declaration of war on the Second Amendment, Infowars.com is launching a new contest looking for the best video taped open letter to Mr. Costas telling him why the Second Amendment, citizen gun rights, the Bill of Rights and the Constitution are essential to a free society.

The contest aims to call attention to the media’s blatantly transparent efforts to control and shape public opinion in regards to firearms.

Additionally, everyone is encouraged to mail spoons with notes to Mr. Costas because, by his own logic, spoons are responsible for the rising obesity epidemic that has claimed the lives of millions of Americans.

Join Infowars.com in boycotting the NFL, NBC and Bob Costas unless they issue an apology and renounce their claims against the Second Amendment.

Not to mention I got really tired of hearing the words “WE” and “THE AMERICAN PEOPLE” being used as being fully behind this much resented agenda.

If you want to ban unnecessarily fast weapons because they can kill people how about banning unnecessarily fast cars and bicycles and motorcycles because they also can kill people. My brother was killed by a careless driver not a careless car.

In light of the recenet call for Gun Control and now the recent Dallas Cowboy tragedy (vehicular manslaughter) it is time for our Goverment to revoke everyones drivers license. You will only be allowed to opperate a motor vehicle after a thorough background check proves you do not use drugs or alchohol, then and only then will you be given your license. Additionally, the cost of this license will go up ten fold to pay for all the buracracy. Oh by the way, no one is liable for their actions as it is now acceptable to blame someone else for what you do. More laws must be passed to ban drugs & alcohol so no more innocent people are murdered. Ridiculous Right? Wake Up!

Piers, I thought you were a journalist, you should do some research instead of repeating talking points. You hadto stand up Bill Nye the phony science guy, do some research on gun control and climate, you will see how absurd your position is.

Mr Morgan, the 2nd Amendment was written with the intent that the American people have the right to protect themselves against a tyrannical government. Yes, we had muskets 230 years ago, but then again so did the Red Coats. With the advances in weaponry over the last 2 centuries, it stands to reason that we should be able to use the equivalent of what the government would use against us. That is unless you’d rather go up against an M16 or a drone with a musket.

Why does anyone listen to these comfortable on their knees subjects? These are the ones we need out of this country. Why are you here subject? That’s right, because the American way of life has produced a great big t1t for you to suck on. Unlike the anemic flat chested one your socialist toilet created. Hey clown, tell you what, let’s revoke your first amendment rights.

    Dear Piers,
You are not an American. Your opinions about our laws is a crock. I don’t tell you what side of the road to drive on in jolly old England and you don’t tell me how to follow my own Constitution. Agreed? PS. If you don’t like our laws, don’t let the door hit you on the way out!!
